But with topcats great mod so i can recruit highlanders as GB I PLAY MODDED VERSION OF EMPIRE TOTAL WAR Darth version of Total war games from Empire onwards.

Series have a MUCH BETTER diplomacy and empire building framework....
No I would keep the Total War Combat arena, but the Civ.
Civ feel weird.
That wouldn't work as well.

I can take only so many support.
I badly wanted to like Empire wanted to like Empire, but I just couldn't get past the anemic strategic AI.
All in all I would say both are must tries .

Ok so I just installed Empire Total War on my RC1 Windows 7 box and now it launches but hangs when I try to continue my campaign. The screen flickers back and forth between the game and my desktop and loops.

I've read around the NET a LOT of ppl having the same issues with Empire Total War.
VERY nice find.
Anyway, long story short Empire Total War runs just this weekend.
In nvidia drivers (I'm running the 9800 card).

Please I bought Empire: Total War.
The AI had issues with getting up castle walls... The AI felt dodgy as hell.
Does this game have the same issue? Or Is Shogun 2 a HUGE improvement over Empire: Total War??

Literally unplayable. If your familiar with the TW series; Each turn takes a almost 7 minutes, and it gets progressively worse as the campaign goes on. There are A LOT of bugs, and general poorly constructed parts

I had to wait quite a while before I could play Empire while I got the funds together to build Empire and reading this thread....
As a general rule I´m very critical in relation to Empire Total War and it is quite unusual it.
