I know it can open dmg files.
DMGExtractor can read encrypted filesIsoBuster can handle DMG image files
Try using HFSExplorer .
Although it's best feature is allowing you to read HFS+ partitions .

It will only encrypt the physical data after the file stream is closed which means you have to shut down SQL server....
To encrypt the files? EFS is handled at the OS and is transparent to SQL Server the file is in use.

I have a number of folders on my HDD that have been encrypted using the build-in XP folder encryption.
How can I get a list of all of the locations that have been encrypted? Search doesn't seem to have an option for it.

If I create an encrypted zip file with Winzip (say with 256 bit AES encryption), and some of the files contained in it have publicly known contents (e.g. open source 3rd party libraries), does this compromise the security of the encrypted zip at all?

I've erased all contents in the boot partition of my Mac. I thought I had an up-to-date backup using TimeMachine, but unfortunately the home folder wasn't backed up at all, because it was encrypted using FileVault.

I dont, the encrypted files will be sufficiently different that no cryptanalysis is possible.
My question was about files not how to encrypt.
To sound stuck up; I wouldn't roll my own either .
