As with ETF's....
I'd keep the ETF's instead of going to another company's mutual funds.
As with ETF's, I trust these more than another company's mutual funds.
Happy with Vanguard funds.

If you go with ETF's at Vanguard the ishares....
Try a simple portfolio of VTI, VEU, BND, and TIP .
The main reason? TDAmeritrade has a 100 ETF's that you can trade for free.
I would roll that 401k over to TDAmeritrade if you want ETF's.

I own VTIAX and contemplated purchasing more but questioned whether to buy VXUS instead, the ETF that mirrors the same index of Total International Stock.
When I buy a ETF I know the price at the time of purchase rather than after the end of day settlement...

The ETF (VXUS) does not have a traditional mutual fund and ETF class, the mutual funds tend to be every bit as tax-efficient as the ETF ETF which....
Can't purchase new shares after you exchange or sell out of the fund.

For example, the Vanguard Emerging Markets fund has a .25% purchase fee with a .22% expense ratio if I buy it in my roth IRA.
On the other hand, the VWO ETF has the same .22 expense ratio and no purchase fee(brokerage fee if I buy it via the 25 free trades...

I always buy ETFs investors to the ETF....
If that weren't the case my opinion might be different .

Hi guys, noob here. After looking about for quite a while, I realize that sg has only a few index funds and their expense ratios are quite high (in comparsion). So, I turn toward ETFs. Bu I realize that foreign ETFs like SPDR have the similar problems...

The local ETF here is on STI and not really much variety.
But local brokers don't offer foreign ETFs.

For US ETF, we need to pay 30% capital gain tax.
