From what I've read, ethanol gas has a reduction in emissions, but does that counter the reduction of fuel economy?

Ethanol 10% vs. Non ethanol added gas!!! I understand that Ethanol is like 105 octane, why then does it seems to dampen performance and increase spark retard?

Ethanol might be higher in octane in pure form...I don't know.

I have to admit to complete ignorance on the subject until I read an article on FOX News this morning.
1) is there indeed a significant decrease in the miles per gallon that you get when using E10 gas?
2) how do you find a Gas Station that sells gasoline...

How many of you do the gas/water mix to test for ethanol.
And what results so far?
My recent test indicated 100% gas in BP regular. A year ago, chevron tested 100% gas in regular but ethanol in premium.

I am wondering what you'll thoughts and opinions on non ethanol gas... does one think it is worth putting non ethanol in the bike or not? Do you really get better gas mileage and if so it is better to where its worth the price for non ethanol gas versus...

Most non-ethanol gas, partly for the better mileage but mostly because it's better for the bike.
Don't want to put any fuel with more than 10% ethanol mixed with the gas in your motorcycle.

So--Does the use of a fuel/water seperator nullify the water problem created by ethanol-- v. --paying thru the nose for super non-ethanol gas(+60c./gal)

IMHO its better to run non ethanol gas to save you separating.
Is not going to counter the effects of ethanol.

Found this website that lists where in your state you can buy non-ethanol blended gas. http://pure-gas.org/. I like to use it in my boat, generators and the TW. CaptD.
