We will be in PDC next week and want to avoid exchanging our money at the resort. I have read that the ATM's will give you the best exchange rate. The current rate looks to be at 12.8-1USD. Where has everyone got their Pesos?

It's just as easy to buy some Pesos....
Approx 12 to 12.6 Pesos to the $.
We just got back from the gran porto real and the exchange rate at our hotel was better than and CIBC here were giving a rate of 08188 to .0833 for some time now.
How many pesos do you get for $100 canadian (approx.) at Barcelo Karmina or at a atm machine ? We are leaving in 1 one week to Manzanillo.

At the ATM, you'll probably pay about $83.00 or less for 1000 pesos.
We bought 3,500 pesosAt the Karmina, you pay $120.00 for 1000 pesos.
In the Mall on the Money Exchange Booth...I got 11 pesos to 1.00 canadian...
Where is the best place to exchage $100 into small pesos for tip money. I am staying at the GCP and would like someplace close if possible.

They stopped doing it shortlythe pv airport has an exchage window you do not get a great price on your exchange but for $100 you about 13 pasos for1 u.....
The GCP used to exchange US to pesos for about the same rate as the cambios.

Where is the best place to exchange dollars for pesos. I know the airports are terrible.

You can exchange your Cnd $ into pesos in MX but possibly not at great rates (although they are the same value now) We get a bunch of pesos from the local bank / exchange house before we to the exchange ....
For Mexico.
I know not at the airport but we arrive on a Sunday so no banks open.

Check with your bank to ensure, I'd probably buy enough pesos from my....
The pesoI get mine simply by withdrawing pesos from my bank account via ATM.
If you pay in US dollars, you get the equivalent of 10 pesos to the dollar.

Would anyone know, we are staying @ La Brisas Huatulco, do they have a place @ the resort that you can exchange $ for pesos, or do we look for ATM machines on La Cruceita?

I usually buy about $100.00 worth of pesos once I get thru security @ my departurenot sure if anything changed from when we stayed there, but i believe you could exchange are the same, I write the amount....
They will exchange @ the desk.
Two years ago we used mostly US dollars. Travel agent suggested Pesos. Staying at the Barcelo again and will probably go into town a couple of times what currency do you suggest

Everyone accepts pesos.
:) Your money will go further with pesos.
As he said you don't go to the USA and pay with Canadian or Pesos.
We are here now and the Sunquest rep has asked people to use Pesos.
Hello, With respect to paying for rental cars or diving excusions, am I better off paying in USD or pesos? I'm trying to figure out how much of each type of currency to bring over. :) Thanks!

Bancomer Banorte HSBC Banco car with a USD rate as they may charge your credit card in pesos at an exchange rate they decide and then your bank will....
Once you get your USD, you can exchange it in the bank for pesos.

Or you can do both pesos and the travel than others.
Go to your local AAA office and ask.
Another option is to buy a travel card with a set limit on it .
Local bank and convert pesos there before you come down.
When at a resort hotel in Cancun: 1. Are there ATMs? 2. Is tipping ok in dollars or are pesos better? 3. Do we need pesos at all?

I would not want exchange Peso's for American dollars, so I give them the same respect take pesos and american....
They don't shop or live in Mexico.
Extremely long days and will need to exchange those dollars for pesos.
