Question regarding exhaust leak
If i have a bad gasket and have exhaust leak, will it make me lose power?

I'm thinking I might have an exhaust leak N1 exhaust.
Anywhere else on the exhaust system not likely from stock, only in Vtec I can hear that it's louder.
If it is a major leak on the header it is possible.

Can anyone give me an idea of the average cost to have an turbo exhaust manifold leak fixed at a shop? Thanks.

I need help
I did try the search and still confused.
I have a 01 with 190000 miles and have oil leaking from between the exhaust manifold and header.
I brought into the dealership in with stalling issues at low rpm's with no oil leaks from the exhaust...

I mention to the dealer that was not my main concern and was not the cause of the leak it is just a bad exhaust gasket and left over oil....
The oil is not coming out of the exhaust but rather near.
Rear main seal ?

So yesterday I put on the Magnaflow 15472 3" catback on my 2011 Wrx. I can't seem to find a solution for the exhaust leak where it meets the downpipe. I have an Invidia catless downpipe (3") as well. So the Magnaflow exhaust tapers to 2.5" the last inch...

I had a similar issue with and old exhaust, get new gasket and try the silicone gasket maker from any auto part store (if you don't mind getting some goo on your new exhaust.

Hey guys so im trying to figure out if i have an exhaust leak....i have an 06wrx...now i checked my catback and had a friend rev the car and i didnt feel a leak..same to covering muffler...i checked around downpipe/uppipe/headers didnt really feel air...

I have a oxy/acy torch that I can heat the studs, have done that on boat exhaust manifolds.
Of GMFSers are horribly embarrassed by simple rattles, let alone an exhaust leak noise.

Hey guys my technigas has begun leaking about 20 km into using it
theres only very small leaks where the silencer bolts on and theres carbon leaking from the screw holes and abit of smoke when starting up
is there really that big a problem?

Are you saying you don't believe an exhaust leak at the port will cause a lean condition? Technically..that's it.
A small leak in your exhaust will cause you to run lean..that's it.

Its the joint between the downpipe and catback exhaust is where the leak is small right now exhaust includes the Downpipe, which bolts to the turbo.
