Thinking of using an explorer rear end under my stock frame. I am wondering what everyone who has used the explorer rear used for wheel size and back spacing? I am thinking about 18" or 20" wheels on the back. If you have any pictures showing your setup...

I have a 99 explorer and the rear end sags alot and does anyone know a cheap way to fix it ??? I was thinking about building a set of boomerang shackles for it but not sure what size lift to give it ???? Thanks ahead of time Jason

Well the reason I was going to build shackles because ? 5-Will the boomerang shackles... .
There ???? I'd go with blocks they work great with style of rear suspension.

Of the explorer on the otherhand is wider than your stock ranger rear end.
Gentlemen, the owner manual for a '99 Explorer(4.0 SOHC) with a 3.73 LS rear axle calls for synthetic 75W-140 plus friction modifier. I'm not one to deviate too far from from the manual for my own amusement, but is that thick of an oil really needed? ...

An explorer will put more of a strain on the vehicle My Ranger has basically the same 8.8 rear axle (although it's the 28 spline version as opposed to the Explorer's 31 spline) and it calls for 80w-90 duty cycle than an Explorer....

It has open front and rear differentials.

I have the MFT of the Explorer either.
Does anyone on here have a new Explorer? I am not looking for one now but I am looking to get one rid of the Explorer next year and go to a Q7, Cayenne or maybe even back to a Flex.
