Thinking of using an explorer rear end under my stock frame. I am wondering what everyone who has used the explorer rear used for wheel size and back spacing? I am thinking about 18" or 20" wheels on the back. If you have any pictures showing your setup...

I have a 99 explorer and the rear end sags alot and does anyone know a cheap way to fix it ??? I was thinking about building a set of boomerang shackles for it but not sure what size lift to give it ????

There ???? I'd go with blocks they work great with style of rear suspension.

ive got a disc brake ford explorer 8.8 rear with 3.73 and factory limited slip.
anyone want to sell me 4.10 gears, or even trade for a factory 4.10 LS/disc rear?

I had heard clunking when hard accelerating or hard stopping my 2003 Explorer, also heard it from Park to Reverse/Drive. I suspected u-joints, was correct, those were replaced.
After I received my car back I noticed the clunk was louder when hard accelerating...

What is the differences in a 92 explorer front end and a ranger front end? I know the width is wider on the explorer, but are the beams longer or is the length in the hubs or the knuckles? I bought a 98 mountaineer rear end with 3.73's, and had a 92 explorer...

Of the explorer on the otherhand is wider than your stock ranger rear end.

Gentlemen, the owner manual for a '99 Explorer(4.0 SOHC) with a 3.73 LS rear axle calls for synthetic 75W-140 plus friction modifier. I'm not one to deviate too far from from the manual for my own amusement, but is that thick of an oil really needed?

An explorer will put more of a strain on the vehicle My Ranger has basically the same 8.8 rear axle (although it's the 28 spline version as opposed to the Explorer's 31 spline) and it calls for 80w-90 duty cycle than an Explorer....

I have the MFT of the Explorer either.
