The F-35 is much less expensive, but it doesn't have anywhere near re same capabilities.
Can you clarify your point? The F-22 and F-35 don't really serve the same purpose.

How to kill F-22 Hopefully, you will never find yourself in air-to-air combat with a Lockheed Martin F-22, particularly if you happen to be flying any other fighter besides an F-22. The Raptor still boasts a 30:1 kill ratio in mock dogfights (the only...

To say that PAK FA has identical capabilities to F-22, they just compare it to F-35.

The F-22 might be a great plane - but as is typical with military acquisition programs today, the Air Force is no stranger to boondoggles (nor is the Navy, Marines, or Army).
The entire acquisition...

People, Sorry if this is not the right forum.
I read that the Russian Zvezda ejection seat is superior to the MB seat (yes?)
It was initially selected for the F-22.
Why was it dropped? politics? price? functionality (apparantly better than MB).

I seriously doubt in the 1970/8o's.
Even if it wereThe F-22 has a McDonnell Douglas (Boeing) ACES seat in it, not a Martin Baker.
About F-22; but the K-36 was definitely a contender for the F-35 ejection seat.
