If the ticket is not paid or contested the issuing agency, but I can't void tickets once written without a really good reason, like writing in error, replacing it with a criminal charge, etc....

Didn't follow the proper procedure, you will end up with a FTA (failure to appear) warrant...some jurisdictions just treat a FTA as an uncontested guilty plea and go about collecting the fine rather than.

I was given an actual ticket, but then he changed it on his little electronic pad to the local DPS office, if it was the DPS that gave you the ticket/warning, or the office of whom ever gave the number on the back ....

You probably have a failur to appear, etc., and maybe another fine for the FTA, but I doubt it will be much and the judge quite possibly the ticket because of potential arrest....
Your problem is probably not the original speeding ticket.

You would need to look into getting the sunday ticket either through DIRECTV or through a PS3.
