Is there a way to use facebook chat with out facebook's web interface or Pidgin? I'm not a pidgin user so the Pidgin plugin isn't an option.

I'm currently using Digsby as a Facebook chat client (and Live the only multi protocol....
You can use it's "pop out" feature if you want each chat to have it's own window like desktops that runs in a stripped down IE.

Is there a way to have FaceBook chat in Windows Live Messenger kind of like the way Digsby does it? Like, without making my friends get Windows Live accounts. Is this possible? I have the latest version and I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate.

Facebook is based on XMPP like gChat , iChat, AIM ...
Client that supports the XMPP protocol (ie Digsby, Pidgin, GTalk, iChat) to chat on Facebook, however is only for WLM and Yahoo chat .

On Facebook you can browse the site without affecting the floating chat windows. Seems like if the main page was inside an iFrame and the footer and chat windows where floating outside.

I read this article at Lifehacker , and I immediately tried it.
But there is a problem, it says that it requires encryption, but it is not available on this server.
Has anyone here done this before? What should I do to make it work?
