This is just a thought, but if I can find fake plants that look very realistic, I might go with them, instead of live plants, which I have had problems with lately.
PM me if you have a brand and store that they are at?

When I use fake plants, I always get them at craft stores like Hobby Lobby or Michael's.

Hi, can ye tro some tips at me on how i can clean my fake plants, im lazy so no hard work tips please,,
they have a kinda black algae on them and its not easy to remove.

Believe it or not, denture cleaner (like efferdent) works very well on removing... .
1 cap treats 50 gallons so 1 cap in 2-3 gallons of water and the fake plants after you rinsed this many times and plants come out looking like new.

I also have some spider plants and mine is full of baby plant starts and pretty little flowers.

I was just at Michaels and noticed they had a decent selection of plastic plants cheap. Anyone tried using these in the tank? is it safe? Do they leach anything? I want to put some fake plants in with my silver dollar school.

Best 2 things I have discovered in fish keeping are pfs and fake plants from craft it cures cut the dixie cup....
Same as said above, iv used fake plants in my aquariums with no issues, I soak them in a bucket in my tanks.

I was curious about live plants to use in my Avic's tank. Are there any that are harmful to the tarantula? And if I end up using fake plants, should I buy them from certain reptile supply dealers, or is it safe enough to buy fake plants from a craft store...

What are the brown spots on my silk aquarium plants? I have noticed since I have put fish in my cycled tank, that most of the fake silk plants have got brown spots/circles on them? What are they? Algae? I have real floating plants and the lights are on...

Personally, I let algae grow on the back tank wall and on the fake plants.
In order to clean the fake plants, just take them out and rinse them off in hot water if it bothers you.
Have seems right.

Just thought I'd toss up a few pics of my tank from today. The plants are fake, but I try to buy the most realistic fakes I can find and plant them in a natural looking way. Growing behind the log or tucked in tight places. Also tried to get a few close...
