In Windows Media Player (not center, specifically Win 7), is there a hot key or something that will let me skip forward or backward a few seconds or few minutes? For this reason alone, I often use WinAmp or VLC.

Hi,
I am using ssh -X to display GUI apps locally.
Is there a better way to speedup this processes - something similar what NoMachine Nx server / client does?
Thanks, Mariusz.
Answer Snippets (Read the full thread at superuser):
Of course this is insecure due to the fact that SSH is not involved, but it would be a bit faster ... .
You can configure your X Server to accept connection via TCP from other remotes to display their apps on your display .
You don't need to SSH, of course.

Remote Firefox over SSH is pretty usable until you try a right click to make context menu show up. It takes about 5 seconds for the context menu to appear. It seems it takes many round trips.
ssh -c blowfish-cbc -C -Y host
I believe with the above command...

Are you running Firefox on the remote end? Or are you using Firefox locally and using ssh to tunnel your HTTP traffic?
If you're actually tunneling an X11 connection over ssh, you're pretty much doing everything you can do outside of buying expensive ... .
