I would coat your wheel studs lightly....
Perhaps going to the carwash periodically during the wintertime and spraying the wheels off very well in addition to the car would help .
You must live in an area that uses a lot of anti-icing agents in the wintertime .

Think I should try lightly sanding the rust down a bit to remove it first? Also isn't there something I can apply to protect it from rusting further?
Also, how long.

Need 30 days for it to cure before i start sanding .
I have no garage to prep except around the area of the fender.

I rolled them to fit my rims and I notice it chipped the paint and some very light surface rust starting to show up. What should I do? I don't do much painting/body work what should I do to clean it up and keep it from rusting? Thanks for any help.
