In the early 2000's fighting games died. The serious fighting game players had their 2 titles they adored: Marvel vs Capcom 2 and Street Fighter 3. Both very hard to pick up, a very very steep learning curve, but also very very rewarding for skilled players...

ive been playing alot of mortal kombat and smash bros brawl as of late and im enjoying the hell outta the story modes.

When you PURCHASE a fighting game do you want it to have other modes besides versus? Mainly story modes that reveal the personal story of the fighter you are using, or modes that challange you/let you earn stuff, or just innovative single player experiences...

A little backstory. The last 3 fighting games I've played are MK9..then DoA for the dreamcast and finally Tekken on the PS1. So as far as fighting game history goes...mine is pretty terrible. I got skullgirls because it was supposed to pull back the veil...

Let's face it, a large portion of decent games for vita are ports of console fighting games. And I'm pretty sure this genre must sell well enough for them to appear on psp, 3ds, gba, gbc, gb (that mortal kombat!).
With Tekken Advance being the only portable...
