In the early 2000's fighting games died. The serious fighting game players had their 2 titles they adored: Marvel vs Capcom 2 and Street Fighter 3. Both very hard to pick up, a very very steep learning curve, but also very very rewarding for skilled players...

I have used that technique in the past but to tell the truth, I find it wastes way too much time a limb with your throw line to make this technique work and you can also retrieve the friction saver that it is surprisingly simple

I went from a 2 and there from my once a week swim coach .
The water instead of fighting it and you tend to repeat those motions that help you glide.

But in a real fight its not very effective.
People just dont fight one on one , they attack you in large groups , street fighting will teach.

My writing has been heavily influenced by a lot of the battle manga I read growing up, so I put a lot of effort into/focus on the fights in my stories. There are waaay more of them than there seems to be in most fantasy though, so it's making me a bit...
