This material is either the same as or very similar to what is used for woodworking dust collector that would provide a lot of raw material (the woodworking bags have dozens of times the square footage (not balls).

Let it sit a few hours then work it....
I get a 5 gal bucket and fill it with gas and drip the air cleaner in it .
The way I clean them is this.
Someone here posted that you could change it with a paper element .
I think the metal retainer is spot welded in.

Can anyone recommend a good material to use as a fan filter-type mesh, and a place to get it? I'm going to need about 15" square for my the big frontal fan in my next project.

What seems to work well and be oil resistant for the oil bath air filter. I have three small pinholes. I only found one post that recommended JB Weld.
