Hello all, I am building a web based trading system where buy and sell signals would be generated by reading quotes from either Yahoo finance, google finance or the exchange(NSE of India) itself.My first preference would be to fetch data from this url...

Google does indeed offer an API for Google Finance, documented here: http://code.google.com/apis/finance/
It looks like it's designed around the idea of a portfolio , and I don't offhand see a way today) from Yahoo Finance in CSV ....

I need to get the index of a exchange like NASDAQ rather than the price of a specific stock in that exchange. I suppose that Finance::Quote will come to the rescue , but after a quick go-through of the document, I find it the way one can use the module...

I've seen a lot of job advertisements (contracts) quoting extremely high daily rates. I don't think I will ever earn anything even close to it without some experience in banking.
Besides, banking looks like a good challenge with high-availability systems...

Can anyone give me an idea of how it works? It's been suggested to me by 2 car dealers and Santander is closed until Monday. I'm 2.5 years into a 5 year deal and owe more than the car is worth. It's very hard on petrol and I just can't afford it any more...
