How does one turn a keyed shaft (or other irregular shape) without chipping the cutting tool? Is there a specific kind of tool that works better for roughing it out?

Can anyone help me, need help with the prop shaft for the wife's trike, got the shaft from the donor engine and the prop from the car but am not overly confident about fixing the two together, as there is a big difference between the diameter of the shaft...

In the lathe complete with 2 chunks and turned to correct diameter to fit inside car shaft that suits the od of the bike shaft
weld round, and then also drill through and spot it in a couple sliding section, this way you can remove....

I know very little about LD shafts.
This is what I have heard and i could be wrong.
In the mid 80ees production cue companies just couldnt keep up with the deman of good seasoned solid maple shafts and trying to warranty the shafts that were warping.

I am in desperate need of a t-case input shaft for a 4l80 conversion,i have had 1 on order from RPM for the last 6 months and he still says that it wont be made until he gets and order for 10 or more,unfortunately I dont have the luxury to wait that long...

Not that I know of for transfer output shaft and adapter kit.
IIRC, theres a stock 4l80e shaft that can be cut down and used.

Hi I have just brought some 1990 Macgregor Vip irons and I was going to reshaft them with some s400's when I went to remove the club head it just would not budge! I use a heat gun to remove my shafts and I have pulled many...

If not saving the shafts, you can cut them off a couple of inches shaft clamp and a good ....
And shaft drilled through after epoxying and a steel or aluminum pin was inserted, tamped tight the pin if not destroying the shaft.

The crank rear main seal is easy (540) after you looks like .
A tool to help get the tranny pilot shaft seal out.

I'm not your average Jim'll fix it, so changing shafts on a driver myself is something I don't feel too comfortable doing. That said, it's time to give it a try.

I love it as a hobby....
I also didn't know how to turn the ferrule down to a neat finish it as a hobby but have have turned into more of a shaft junkie wanting to find that perfect combo it.
Water helps with its installation.
