Ive recently purchased more final turned blanks,, Im looking for a step by step instructions as to finishing the blanks to make them ready to play... Ive been having a little trouble finishing shafts ,and Im looking for advice to help me along with final...

Gday all, am midway through a mini build with my old boy and am a little concerned with his choice of wheel shaft. has anyone ever used threadbar? i'm worried it might grab or damage the wheel bearings cheers in advance

They all seem to fail right where the speedo gear is cut into the shaft....
I personally think that is a bad thing.
A 1410 set up will just about guarratee that you'll twist the output shaft off the 242 before the drive shaft fails.
PG1 TorSen Bearing Renewal: Differential and Input Shaft. Got stuck in with renewing both Differential and both Input Shaft bearings on a PG1 Gearbox. Here are the four bearings I used. All Steel Caged for longevity. http://img.photobucket.com/albums...

Also can drop out during, however it turned out the replacment....
This bearing sometimes remains on the top of the Input Shaft when seperating the casings.
Next job was to remove the larger Bearing at the outer end of the Input Shaft.

Why not just try and buy the very best and pass that on to the customer.... .

True up the shaft to fit an undersized bushing or sleeve the shaft back, install the bushing first....
My only and are somewhat self lubricating.
I am sure others will chime in with some insight .

The ID of the pulley is turn so it fits snug on the turned down area of the nut your gantry advances ~5" per rotation of drive shaft, you are extremely sensitive to the drive shaft being slightly out-of-round or....
