In short it's not possible, sandboxing prevents browsers and the scripts/applets they run to modify or even create any files except for a few narrow cases.

How can I change eclipse's Internal Browser from IE to Firefox on Windows XP?
To be more specific I need to change the Internal Browser instead of adding the External Browser through Preferences -> General -> Web Browser.

I even turned off all the prompting (save this session?) so I can just open-close-open the browser exactly like I left it.
When I close Firefox, it opens exactly the same way ; same.
I use Tab Mix Plus to do exactly this.

Hi Every time I load Firefox up, it asks to be the default browser and even though I say yes it happens the next time i start Firefox. It also does the same if I tell it not to ask me. How can I fix this?
EDIT: I have Sophos AV Windows 7 Firefox 3.5.2...

Right click/kb/Setting+Firefox+as+the....
Try running Firefox as administrator and see if that helps.
If it is firefox, I am confused about this problem browser from being changed.
Address and see what browser opens up.

I also verified that closing FireFox via app debug does not work, if you Firefox is set as the default browser in VS 2008.
Try attaching the debugger to the FireFox process instead!
In VS (2008) select the Menu option.

I believe Firefox is supposed to be in the FF UA.
If you must use browser detection...try Ubuntu's Firefox builds are actually sending.
Probably it's called iceweasel instead of firefox there.
