You can delete them, then re-enter..
You can view them there but not edit them.
I don't think so.
You can change them there.

Apperently firefox is very sensitive....

The pop-up authentication will only remember the most recent password, not giving you a drop-down like it does with in-page remembered passwords..
To do what you want with the default Firefox setup.
In particular when programming, it's handy to post error messages in Firefox' search box, to see what Google has to say on the matter :) On linux and particularly X11, it's even more handy since you only have to select some text to put in the X buffer...

Don't check off any of it's safe-mode boxes...
This is only for Firefox safe-mode...
How long are the hangs? I would start by starting up Firefox (FF) in safe-mode to see what happens...
