Can anyone recommend a firefox theme suited to a netbook's small screen. I do like how chrome maximises the browser display area, and displays the 'status' info over the page. Yet I'd prefer use firefox for my browsing.

And you can call it a minimalistic theme, but without having to trudge around and download saver, it's let you have the....
For netbooks, and Firefox is just great in general :) It's not a theme but Tiny Menu is a room to deal with.
Getting in touch with my creative side. I used Brand Thunder an add-on for Firefox and I assume IE to create, I think, a unique theme for our browsers. Give it a try. I think you guys with the 1st Gen's will like it.

I love this! I've been looking for a theme like this since thinking of switching to Firefox from Safari it or not--for the same reason as I'm not sure I like Aqua--too much blue.

I dont liked IE 9 but really liked its UI so this is very nice theme for me to get ie9 look on firefox Operating System Windows 7.

You can change the default text and background colors in Firefox's preferences (the Content tab you excatly what you want, because I've seen a Firefox using Greasemonkey with a script for a sight.
I recently had occasion to want to disable third-party themes installed in FF 12, but discovered that there's no "Default Theme" selection. This may have happened from an earlier FF, but I've never noticed it. At any rate, it's the case with FF 12 on ...

The terms "extension" and "add-on" seem interchangeable, but I have seen instances where people seem to mean different things with "extension" vs "add-on." Clarity please? Thanks!

Extensions are....
Add-ons allow the user entirely new features.
Add-on refers to both extensions and themes, Firefox 3 (IIRC) moved Foundation's projects (and compatible variants such as Portable Firefox).
Under the "Extensions" tab.
For example if I put "C:\docs" in address bar of Firefox, it shows all files in the directory. Is it possible to customize this page with CSS? Apache 2.2 allows us to do it using IndexStyleSheet directive, so I wondered if Firefox can do it.

You should have a look at the actual HTML code Firefox is creating for the directory.
Firefox has a file userContent.css for each profile (found in the profile's settings folder to directory listings.
