Shortly after updating FF and TB I had some problems with Firefox leaking the history and cookies occasionally it seems to happen at random in FF even though I have booth disabled (history&cookies) in Sandboxie and Thunderbird doesn't load message alerts...

This behavior lasted for a day on the links do nothing .
The latest Thunderbird (10.0~b4+build1) but stable Firefox (9.0.1+buid1).

Gtkfilechooser.ini (if it exists) and toggle ShowHidden there, though I'm not sure if firefox follows it (it's sometimes hard to tell, what's gtk in firefox and what's not).

Ubuntu has as default email-client Evolution. However, a lot of people I know are using Thunderbird instead, without really being able to explain why. If you for example look here on Superuser, the tags thunderbird:evolution are 8:1.
