On the Mac, Flash Player is not GPU accelerated. On top of that it is horribly inefficient. This means that if I open 5 tabs with Flash video things slow down like crazy.
Is there a way to stream Flash video into something that is not Flash Player and...

Because control enter makes input event and close....
So you can listen on any custom ctr-Enter to test and ctr-w to close (Ctr-W closes flash players window).

Is it at all possible to connect the Flash Player debug version to the debugger in Flex Builder using source code? I'm running an app which has no right click menu, and I therefore can't right click and select connect to debugger.

Some apps and IDEs recommend installing the debug version of the Adobe Flash player. I know this allows seeing trace statements even when not running Flash via Test Movie, but what else is different? Anything?

Are there any third party (preferably FOSS) Flash players that aren't as invasive as Adobe's Flash? I'm getting really sick of Adobe doing way more than it should with respect to its programs and am doing my best to avoid installs of either a PDF reader...

There's the Gnash project, but it doesn't really do much of what Flash does sadly.
There are Flash Player alternatives that work up to version 7-8 but not beyond that.
