They can get pretty bad as they age.
Not a bad fix as long as the mounting bolts will come out and the threads in the housing are in good shape .
You're likely on the right path, blown O-ring on the base lug .

Its a great kit.
Amsoil for a kit that has 4qts of 0w-40, oil filter and 1 qt of fluid for the rear diff.
Just did a complete fluid change on my machine at 10 hrs. It seems the front diff , tranny and transfer case all had the same fluid, looks like hydraulic fluid, (about the same consistency) and all smelled the same. Yet the AGL polaris fluid for the tranny...

The rear diff and the t-case were a different story, the fluid i drained from them was more like 90 wt Premium ATV Angle Drive Fluid" sounds like what came out of mine when i changed fluids the fluid the factory would....
Is there any paint that is truly resistant to to brake fluid? I need a paint that won't lift or crinkle if it comes into contact with brake fluid (Dot 3 or Dot 4 fluid). Any suggestions?

Any nice paintjob will turn to mush if you so much as say "brake fluid" near it.
Silicone fluid does cost more...Last time I bought it, I got a quart to brake fluid.
I drained out looked as good as new.
Right now I'm using automatic transmission fluid in my pump. Is that okay? I wanted to replace it this year with real Western Hydrolic Fluid, but everyone, including the dealer says the trans. fluid is fine. What's everyone else using???
