That's because the Google Voice app is NOT a VoIP app .
You cannot use the Google Voice app unless you are will to pay roaming fees .
If you have a Google Voice number already then you can use the Gmail Call Phone .

How do I deposit a US check, on a US account from a foreign country? I got my tax return but I am in portugal. How do I deposit that into my US account since I can physically go to the bank.

I mail deposits to my bank all the time.
Either will work.
Deposits can be made by mail, or you can have a friend do it for you in person .
