What exactly is the difference between the fundamental frequency of a
sound and the first formant frequency?
To me they look the same

Have you ever had to use bit shifting in real programming projects? Most (if not all) high level languages have shift operators in them, but when would you actually need to use them?

Yes, used them in MPEG2-2 Transport....
Of various numbers of bits (they're not all byte-aligned), and therefore you need to bit-shift them when Fourier transform — FFT and it's Cooley-Tukey technique will require use bit shifting operations.

I just used the Melodyne software a lot on my last personal project. It was new to me, and I used it more for effect then correction. However, I did find it quite useful for subtle correction of certain passages.
It's horribly time consuming, and if not...

The Esses problem seems to have been mostly corrected since they went to the DNA algorithm, though the best way to combat the problem is still to make sure your note separations... .
When you get quick with it, it's much faster than graphical mode in Autotune .

This is a great demo of the VP-9000's Variphrase tech (also present in the VariOS and a workstation keyboard by Roland, I believe). Basically, it can really smoothly adjust time and pitch independently without much artifacting.

Could be some formant filter to chip'n'dale with formant filter? Atleast the illusion is that the pitch is higher.

Is there any way to make my voice sound like a woman?
Would pitch change be any good?
I'll be trying it out later, so I guess I'll find that one out, but, is there any other way anyone knows about?

There are a couple free VSTs to check out that have pitch & formant shifting...
