Hi,
Odd question - but hear me out!

I need to incubate my cells in DMEM media containing the peptide (which...

BUT - Can you freeze-thaw DMEM and it still work optimally?
I can't find anything in DMEM and GM-CSF....
So I would naturally want to freeze my DMEM/Peptagon combination (in aliquots to thaw out when and as needed).
Expensive.

I wonder if anyone has ever kept records as to how many houses get burned down each year by folks trying to un-thaw pipes?
My favorite is the guy that turns the thermostat off and cranks the wood stove up. I've seen heat pipes freeze and break in the ...

I have come into possession of a giant bag of frozen broccoli-cheddar soup. When it's thawed, I think it will easily fill a 4-quart pot.
What would be the best way to thaw it out? In the fridge, the sink, my slow cooker, or something else?
I live alone...

Once they're froze....
As with most large things that need in the freezer .
You really should thaw it in the refrigerator.
I would stand it up in a pot at it cross-eyed .
If it's really a gallon, it'll probably take a good 24-48 hours to thaw.

When you thaw it, just give it the old "sniff test." Meat don't lie about its edibility is you are fine to re-freeze....
Anything thats slacked off and isnt slimy or giving you'll be fine .
Be just fine to refreeze, or to thaw and consume.

Interesting article by Harold McGee on quick thawing steaks and other thin cuts. Surprising that there was no negative difference in flavour and texture when steaks were thawed in warm water compared to cold.

During this time meats is in the actual freezing process....
The only reason to do a slow thaw in the fridge would be to inhibit growth of bacteria - it takes hours for a turkey to thaw at room temperature.
I didn't think there would be.
