I've got a new bass and am really pleased with it, the only slight fault is that one string "D" buzzes slightly on about the 12th fret. No other string on any other fret buzzes. Is there anything I can do? Should I adjust the bridge Allen bolts slightly...

Ya' got to question how good and expect it not to buzz....
To set it up for you.
Does it buzz no rattle/buzz at all, especially if you paid a tec.
Have someone check the trust rod as well.
Try a different set of strings (10s).
It back.

So some time ago I took all the strings off my guitar to give it a full out cleaning, forgetting that the entire bridge apparatus comes undone when that happens. By the time I got it back on, the action was much higher than it used to be, I tried for ...

Measure it at the 1st fret, the 12th fret, and a few other.

Is it common for there to be a little fret buzz when played acousticaly, but it isn't noticeable when played through an amp? It seems to be the high E, B, and G strings around about the 5th fret pentatonic scale. The truss rod seems fine when measured...

As a neck that is dead straight will buzz.

I love The Toy Dolls , and Tommy Goober is a cool bass player. But the low action he has on his bass ( Musicman ?) would drive me crazy.

I recently picked up a Epi les Paul standard, and It has some major fret buzz! I put heavier strings on it, as the Long and McQuade store stocks .9's, so I put on .10's. Helped some, so I tried raising the bridge, which didn't help, and I made small truss...
