Myself I'm looking for ideas other than flowers, a card, dinner, for Mother's Day for my wife
from her 5 year old son.
Others I know are dealing with their own mother. Mine's R.I.P. and I wish she

How about sharing a frugal tip you use in your home
discounts.
One year when money was really tight and I couldn't afford to get gifts for anyone
at the end of the day. Where I shop they mark down all
packages that are within 24 hours of "sell by" date

Where I live you can find a lot of day old things like ground beef and dairy. we freeze it and use

I do not see why I should buy something at regular price when it will go on sale one day. So, I wait
gifts in advance so I can find items on clearance. Like if I see a good board game for $5

And peanut brittle. For mothers day and easter a person can start a nice flat of flowers to give
that I have time to spend them. I also (when I am really prepared), go through my flyer the first day

I prepare small quantities. The only leftovers there is, is enough for me to eat for lunch the next day
convinced that a running budget of $400-$700 a month to feed 2 growing kids is being frugal or not.

Our food budget (not including cleaners etc) is $300/m for the two of us. I find this is enough usually but I am surprised...
