Hello,
Just wondering what schools I should Apply to. I'm a NC resident. I do plan on retaking MCAT. Took in April and voided, now very burned out for May 31st MCAT. Cannot concentrate on studying so all bets probably DO school.
MCAT: 9 PS, 8 VR, 8 BS...

Just my opinion on this site, your mcat is right around the range it should be for DO and your GPA is more than good state MD schools ECU....
An exceptional gpa and passable EC's but that mcat will sink you if you apply as is.

I have a very interesting situation. I got a 35 on my MCAT (!! a LOT of work was put in and I realize what i was doing wrong with my undergrad life). I have been published in Nature, I've volunteered 100+ hours at a hospital, I was a part of student council...

Great job on the MCAT! Your GPA, however, will definitely keep you out of MD and DO schools you, I wouldn't even take the mcat yet until your GPA has been improved.

Will be later, but many schools might say, "3.04 gpa and a 40 mcat? what's this about?" You want for letters before they begin to consider your file.

Yes it helps the MS is in a science, but you have a horrible GPA.
Grad gpas usually hold very little weight because they are often inflated .
You are going to have a big huge problem with that gpa.

Your experience seems pretty great so the GPA/MCAT MD's are around 3.65-3.7 GPA and 31.5 MCAT (someone correct me if this is way off, just trying to goYou have a very good....

So I'm a little stuck in terms of creating a list because my scores seem to be about average for acceptance at most schools, but I don't know where my everything else puts me. I don't want to undershoot my potential but I also don't want to leave myself...

Just apply early and broadly, with enough safety schools, and you should be fine .
You are reasonably competitive everywhere, assuming you can sell your ECs to cover all the bases .
I would say to apply anywhere you like.
