I would argue that in general, high GPA and comparatively low SAT is better than a high SAT and comparatively low GPA for admissions purposes, and that therefore more commonly told on this....

3.5 isn't low though.
With low GPAs are one or more of the following: 1) African-American (Clarence Thomas) 2) Hispanic 3) Legacy (Just about every politician) 4) Athlete Pretty much that.

GPA is only one ....
For the most part 3.8 is also good, what should be your lowest goal 3.7 is good, but low for Ivys Anything 3.6-3.8 is pretty good, but less than 3.7 is kinda low W: Can't be determined since different schools do.

Does your GPA reflect only those grades you are a bit low, but not so low that you shouldn't apply.
