I've got a Garmin Nuvi 260W that can connect via USB to my Windows computer. I've connected it and the device was detected and drivers autoinstalled by Windows.
My question is, ... what now? What software can use this GPS device?

The Garmin Software is free, however the Maps are not.
On the garmin website you can download software for your device
http://www8.garmin.com/support and MP3 files can be stored.

I spoke with Garmin at a tradeshow in France on Friday and they explained that MapSource was going to supported devices.
Thanks for sharing, moved to the News sections and I added the notes from the Garmin site.

Does anyone know of a way to use the Garmin GPS 20SM with non-Garmin software(like Google Maps or Route66).
The Garmin XT app always crashes when I use it. So I am looking for an alternative that will work with this GPS.

I am using a Garmin Communicator Plugin, which supports XP or later, but maybe not Windows Mobile.
It comes with the Garmin 20 bundle.
The GPS is a mount.
It automatically if it's going to work.

SportTracks isn't supported for Apple. The Garmin software blows. I'm trying out the trial version of Ascent. Are there any other FREE programs that work for Mac?
