Are there any doctors in the northern or central california area that accept state medi-cal for gastric bypass surgery?
Not sure about that location, but I think if you're morbidly obese, it may be that Medi-cal will pay for it. You'll probably have to counseling, all that kind of thing before they approve you, and can prove that you've tried all kinds of conventional dieting, wish you the best of luck.

Gastric bypass for very sick, overweight mom?
Sounds like she needs to get her depression under control first in my opinion. If she is depressed and has no motivation then there really isn't any point in having the surgery.

Does medicaid cover lapband surgery?
Medicaid differs from state to state, you can look up your local website for medicaid and it should tell you if they cover Weight Loss Surgery or not. Here in Oregon I know medicaid doesnt pay for WLS, but I believe you can fight it or if you have medical necessity then they may.

Cruising after Roux-en-Y surgery?
I had the surgery years ago, and have cruised often since. I have been asked by waiters, dining room staff, and even the main chef on 1 ship if there was something wrong or if I did not like. I always have been open and honest but because of the language barrier it is sometimes hard to explain so they understand. Ordering smaller portions seems like a reasonable answer, but remember that the plates are done in a assembly line manner, 1 peson starch, 1 veg, 1 protien so to make a smaller plate is more work, just eat what u want u r paying for it and leave the rest. I order several courses and eat a bite of this bite o that. I also have them make me a cheese plate with crackers and fruit "to go" so I have a snack n my cabin since I eat several small meals a day and sometimes don't want to wait or go looking for food ie 4 am and starving while hubbie is softly snoring.

What Are Your Thoughts On Plastic Surgery?
I'm seriously considering having my nose done, it's something that has always gotten me down and made me feel really really ugly. People tell me not to worry about it, but hey we are our own worst critics. I'm just wondering, what are your thoughts on people who have plastic surgery to change something they were born with?
