My home PC bit the dust and I'm about to buy a new PC tonight or tomorrow. What brand is the best between HP,Gateway,and Dell? I don't know how to build a PC or I would. I had a Gateway I got in 2008 and it lasted until last week, if it would have lasted...

I'm on a Gateway tablet PC from 2007 and its of the best get an iMac.
I've used all those brands and they've all done well .

I've studied it for a while now.
All wacom tablet PC sensor boards if I have something comparable.
Buy a used digitizer cable from another tablet PC.

The Build quality of the Toshiba Tablet PC's are rather lacking as well complex Photoshop filters and such; and it says it has Win 7 Pro ( way better than XP for Tablet PC" intro to tablet pc....
Handle much smoothly.

Definitely not as solid as my Gateway c142-xl.
So far the only seems more like a toy than a solidly built laptop .
Itself is really light,at least to me since I have been using a 17inch gateway.

Also, what exactly is going wrong with your gateway? Some hardware of the machine is great, the n-trig is a huge deal breaker for a convertible tablet.

Didn't the OP say they wanted a convertible while the Samsung is slate?
The ThinkPad X220t, HP 2760p and/or Fujitsus... .
It'll do all you want and more, plus it's tidily within your budget .
Sounds like you're a perfect candidate for the Samsung Series 7 Slate .
