I just read a very depressing thread about surgery hours. What's it like for trauma surgery? Is it better or worse than for the rest of surgery? Anyone have some first hand experience they'd be willing to share?

Most trauma fellowships are combined with critical care/general surgery....
Probably worse than general surgery.
Try doing a search on trauma surgery to find some old threads about trauma in general to get an idea.

Surgery is sch for Monday. I know it will be general due to the coumadin. I'm looking for what to know/say and what to expect type ideas. Set up used at home does include 3Liters of oxygen bled in.

Telescope use is with one eye.
Fat removal in general surgery? Given the obesity crisis today, why don't surgeons take the opportunity to remove some excess fat when operating on people? Eg, while doing a gall bladder op, take out some abdominal fat from obese patients? Just a thought...

A liposuction is a pretty intense operation, I think, and you can't just do it while preforming another operation .
I'm really not an expert, but I think that would be harder than it sounds .
