Good luck! I was diagnosed with genital herpes in June of 2010, and then had an ocular herpes on his penis, you can probably be pretty sure it is genital herpes, and not a mis diagnosis of coldsore- but they couldnt....

Before a herpes eruption becomes a full fledged sore it comes up as a "pro-drome" which can a day or two to a full blown sore (a herpes sore will be very red, burn and itch like crazy and have still insist that the doc test you for herpes....

It can be transmitted in the genital area, not just....
Typically hsv1 genitally is transmitted from oral to genital contact.
Hard to tell have hsv1.
Even the best herpes blood tests still miss 1 out of every 10 hsv1 infections.

I would appreciate it someone would suggest how I can deal with the itch from an outbreak.
I am also curious if anyone has gone 20 plus years without realizing they are infected.

To add. they were 1mm in the Urethra and 2mm on the scrotum. They were not painful Painful menstrual periods , and they healed a little everyday until walking or urinating peeled off the layer within 24hrs of finding it.

How were you tested for herpes? It's possible you are not positive at all and that it was not interpreted correctly. Post the numbers here.
Were your genital bumps cultured, or were you just tested by a blood test?
The joint thing is not due to herpes...
