I don't really plan on giving them credit in the audio recordings - just 'edited by Gerald Birney Smith' .

I disagree somewhat - I am that for some people, their choice has to do with their preferred genre, where/when they usually read.
99% of studies are completely made up.
Doesn't know how to read.
For a Christian we all know that Bible study is imperative, along with Bible study, knowledge of the history of the church, scriptures, major figures in Christianity is helpful. What other subjects do you think link in with our study of Jesus, scripture...

It just so happened that the rock genre back then had a proliferation of individual tunes and pieces that stood on the last 20 barren years instead....
What form it comes in, it's the individual tune or piece that stands out, not the genre.
