I just got a seed from a giant pumpkin grown last year, from the picture it must be 500lb,probably more. I have only grown pumpkins a few times with so-so- luck. Any tips I should know on growing a beast? I havent even planted yet still a little early...

Any giant pumpkin growers out there? Will using bone meal promote larger roots and stumps on my pumpkin plants? I still get large fruits, but I want to go a step farther if possible? What do you use to develop large stumps on your plants?

Add pumpkin, lentils and stock and bring to the boil.
Medium onion, chopped
1 Tbsp curry powder, Madras
1000 g pumpkin, peeled, chopped
2/3 cup(s) dry lentils seconds.
