I question if....
We'v a sunroom off the kitchen (ie the block walls with full glass windows and insulated normal glass side screens in wood built with overhead glass panels and two full glass double doors built being supplied.
Has anyone even attempted to build their own flip down TV mount? I need one for the bedroom. After arguing with the wife about moving furniture around it just wasn't working out. I need to build some sort of flip down mount but I can build a tray ceiling...

I used to do that until a decorator told me not to and saved me about half an hour for each mix!! To tape... .

Then you need at least 2 inches of treatment, even if you were really short, the acoustics... .
Leaving just 3/4 inch between the bottom of the joists and the new ceiling, with two layers of drywall your new ceiling will be down to about 6'3".
