How did poetry die out as a popular art form?
Poetry used to be pretty popular, at least among those who could read, right? Not "rock star" popular, but "daily poem in the newspaper, and ordinary people would actually read it" popular. Nowadays, it seems...

In all your life since childhood, in one or the other form you listen to the poetry/ rythm be it lori of your mother, nursery rhymes and even during religious offerings you deal with the poetic expressions.

Is a sense of humor about yourself essential in writing good poetry? Even if the work is serious? I have noticed that people who do not have this quality write poor poetry.
