Do you know of any good websites that have fair, up to date printer reviews, including cost per page estimates ? I used to be quite satisfied with http://www.behardware.com/ , but their reviews are too outdated now.

Though it is recommended that you try to source reviews from multiple places rather than trusting just one reviewer.
Http://www.trustedreviews.com/ is one that I have taken to visiting when checking out potential purchases .

Despite the trend that programmers don't read books, I still prefer to read books over "random" websites when learning a new language, etc. (It helps that I have access to Safari Books Online through my former college and Books24x7 through work)

Nowadays, if you try to google: software name review chances are the first 20 hits will be sites like .cnet.com, .snapfiles.com, .softpedia.com, ... well, just google it, and you'll see. In other words you'll get sites which are actually "download databases...
