I'm considering a ThinkPad X200. There's a 128 GB SSD option, and since I'm a huge fan of the Intel X25-M SSD I've been using on my older X61s, I'm thinking of going with that. I am kind of worried because I've read a lot of discussion of SSDs online ...

Samsung SSD: 90MB/Sec Read - 70MB/Sec Write Intel X25-M SSD: 250MB/Sec Read - 170MB....
Compared to the X25-M you're used to it will be a fair bit slower .
You can find it's specifications here.
It comes with a Samsung 128GB Flash SSD.

Not in a desktop environment anyway.
I would say that heat isn't an issue for regular hard drives either .
So no, not really.
SSD's produce less heat than a regular hard drive.

Im upgrading my rig and need advice on wether to go for 2x 64gb ssd`s or 1x 128gb ssd its roughly the same price. please post any suggestions.

Although all my data is on my NAS and I have weekly images of my SSD I wouldn't want the hassle of getting on the disk being portable....

PCLapCounter might support it already releases his version for SSD , SSD Console is probably your best bet.
SSD Console is the only thing for it, as far as I know.

There's indeed a good difference in speed between only using the HDD vs SSD caching, but only using ....
I just don't see the point now, SSD's are getting have too much softwares.
Then the cache drive is a good alternative.
