A good starting point is to get a sense of what a perfect match will look like by calculating the auto-correlations for each signal ( i.e.

If you want to trap ctrl-C, that works in Windows .
It depends on the signal.
The documentation has a pretty good example at the very top.
Look into the Signal Module .
