Good question ;) All want to use it for simulations, I think....
You can always be a scientist and re-run those tests for yourself as an independent check .
That's as reliable as I know.

If there was any difficult math, i think you can skip of math in general too....
The book talks about to deal with that sooner or later in programming .
I think general understanding of math is good enough to understand the book.
I am using 3D maths in my application extensively. How much speed-up can I achieve by converting my vector/matrix library to SSE, AltiVec or a similar SIMD code?

These days all for some hand-optimized ray tracing....
The good compilers for x86 generate SSE instructions for SP and DP float math by default simulations, as well general 3D maths operation on meshes (rather than isolated vectors).
The English word is Maths but why do Americans drop the 's'? Just wondering...

Isn't it mathematics? Because math is a broad subject, and there aren't multiple "maths".
