I bought my wife a table mounted hand grain mill for Christmas. She set it up and we ground our first flour, we'll get it baking soon!
It's from Lehman -
First dough -
It'll go in the oven in about an hour!

I'd post pics of the grain mill but can't attach the mill....
Just this evening milled some soft white winter wheat and this just came out of the oven.
I couldn't resist! (BOG) I really like my Family Grain Mill.

For all grain brewing is it imparitive to mill the malt? Even for 3-5 gallon batches?

If you're buying grain in Toronto....
A dedicated grain mill would almost have a mill that you can use, but they might insist you buy something there.
A corona mill would be an inexpensive but workable option.

I am planning in doing my first all grain batch next week. I bought my ingredients at the lhbs on Tuesday. I had him mill the grains for me while there. How long are the milled grains good for? Will they be good for a week?

You can use grain that was milled.
At ease! I read somewhere that they should be used within 3 weeks .

We're beginning our 2nd week of p2. Last week when we shopped for our p2 items we picked up our new fruits and starchy veggies. About the breads-grains I have a question though. I know that the "100 percent whole wheat is not the same as the "whole grain...

(Like maybe wheat and oats.) But they still refine the grain, removing the germ and bran, and then artificially....
It "fruit."
"Multi-grain" is basically the same as "whole wheat" except that they use more than just one kind of grain in it.

I received my first partial mash kit. I have never seen milled Grains for mashing before. Some of the grains are broken open, but I am seeing some still intact. These are supposed to be milled by default. Can someone help?

My own experience: I stored crushed grain in a plastic bag stored in an airtight container for 4 weeks.
Many people will tell you a hundred different things be but still good .
In that one month? It's milled grain too.

I have a lot of brewing planned for the next two months. I'm going to be using around43lbs of two row. I was just wondering if it would cause any problems if I bought a fifty pound bag of grains and had all fifty pounds milled at my lhbs? Since I don'...

It's not ideal but if you do mill it all, buy a good sealing storage container or two ahead....
Before I had my own mill I would mill it at the LHBS a day from stale grain.
Two months is too long for milled grain.
