My usb portable hard drive fell off the table, landed on the floor and started to make a horrible grinding noise. I assume the platters fell off the spindle? (I think i'm making these terms up)
If i open it up (seagate barracuda) would i be able to salvage...

Your best bet is to backup your data as quickly as possible .

If you open a hdd you'll lose all data unless you send it to some fancy data recovery lab and that costs oodles of money .

When my car accelerates I`m hearing a grinding noise. Unable to discern whether its an engine noise or axle/suspension problem. No grinding noise when parked up. No noise when not pressing the accelerator either.

If its not that then i would check diffs.
Check your wheel bearings first, if you hit something it might have gotton smashed mine did once .

Could it be a throw a slight metal grind/rattle during the start of 1st gear.
And it's not so much as a rattling noise, but more of a rubbing/grinding noise.

It's definitely a grinding noise.

So my H100 pump is making this "grinding" noise when I put the case in its normal upright vertical position, but it stops when I put the case on its side. Does anyone know what could be causing this? Faulty pump or bad installation, should I RMA it?

It still makes a grinding sound like an old hard drive tap on it and the noise....
None of that seemed to work.
You made sure its on 100% speed? The pump makes the grinding noise whether its on speed 1, 2 or 3 and the system off.

Installed new rotors/ pads, now have a grinding noise, HELP! I just installed new Adam's slotted/ dimpled rotors as well as Hawk Performance Pads, then took it for a drive to bed in the new pads/ rotors followed these instructions and heard a grinding...
