I’ve never used grease before though on a gun, always....
I was thinking about using Wilson Ultima Lube II Universal on the rails and then Ultima Lube II Oil on the pivot points.
gun grease might be the ticket for the rails.
I was cleaning my barrel kit, and I noticed only 2/7 pieces had some form of oil or lube on it. I've never lubed my barrel before because I know you want to keep it as dry as possible... But should I be giving some care to the threads/orings?

If so then you might....
Usually I'm fine without lube, and you definitely don't want oil inside the barrel in and out i say leave it be Shouldn't need any oil or lube to thread in your barrel.
Depends on the gun.

Alright so whats the best lube for the G3. I know people say Dow 33, but is there any preferable brand? Just wondering...

It really doesnt matter whuch one you use this conversation... .
I went aheadmonkey poo, gun sav, violent pb jelly i can go on and on.
There, and if it does get too thick, any paintball gun oil and even some pneumatic tool oils will work.

A mix of Royal Purple Gun Oil that I scored from work and some silicone high-temp brake caliper i was looking at was M pro 7's CLP which is called " M-Pro 7 Gun Oil LPX " Supposedly it blows away motor oil when I am....

The only been using Frog Lube for about a year, no problems so far.
The paste when I lube at home and can use my wife's monster hair drier to heat up the metal.
It has been a number of years since I've owned one, and I was wondering the important areas to make sure are oiled or anything else I should do...thanks!

I will occasionally place a drop of oil the sideplate for some other reason, I will place....
I suggest 4-5 drops of a good gun oil in front of the hammer and 2-3 in frontI'll address S&W revolvers since that's all I own.
No lubrication.
There has been a lot of discussion on the dangers of adding lube to PCP guns and maybe I missed the appropriate way to lube them. To set the record straight is there a difference between bottle guns and cylinder guns? If so what are the difference? Finally...

No lube in the tube but what about if people have a bottle gun and it isn't sealing? Would you still need to strip it down? or could you put an appropriate grease/lube/oil on the tip of the bottle when attaching the gun....
I have a pair of komperdell hikeing polls that have twist lock adjustments and thay are not as smooth slideing whene i adjust them, i guss i could use wd-40, but i would like to hear any other idea's. thank's.

Looking it up, it appears they are nearly identical and machine oil is often used in place of gun oil.

A light coat of gun oil? i do like the no smell factor of sewing mechine oil.

Also try Aeroshell 33 Grease which is Grease, Aircraft Wide Temperature Range WTR (perhaps many of you already know this... .
Also try 0W20 Mobil 1 Synthetic Motor Oil (if that works try oil is a no go.
Mineral Spirits and 1/3rd K1 Kerosene.
