OK, yes, I'll admit it - I did a "Betamax" and bought into the HD DVD thing. I managed to get a HD DVD player for my (old) XBox (about £30 off of EBay) and amassed a fair collection of discs (about twenty). Since then, I've gone all Blu-Ray and got a ...

Question about DVDs/ HD TVs? would normal dvds played on a normal dvd player look HD quality on an HD tv? In other words, would the picture be better than on a normal tv?

Answer Snippets (Read the full thread at yahoo):
Note "normal tv", and the quality of the HD TV set it's being viewed on plus the quality of the upscale.
On a HDTV (some of my old favorites are only available on DVD), it cannot truly be HD quality.

They will only look better if you have a DVD player... .
It wasn't the best of times until I got blu-ray .
Source(s): DVD player + HDTV.
An HDTV will show the flaws of a normal DVD better, so the image will actually look worse than if it was a non-HDTV .

With music managers I can choose between genres, artists and albums very quickly .
My external HDD is fairly old (it was bought back when 360GB was considered a lot of memory) but it works very well and amongst other data stores ALL my digital music .
