I haven't been much of a drinker for the past 25 years but now my HDL is low and I've already quit smoking and joined a gym for cardio so I thought I'd try the "2 drinks per day" route.
I don't know what I should drink is red wine the best? I'm sure wine...

My HDL with vodka can improve HDL but I would think that diet could have the same benefit and more safely to raise your HDL levels?....
Nuts, omega 3's and anything with Niacin which you can get at GNC like a vitamin .
Daily exercise.

I am still baffled by my mysterious doubling of my HDL.
I ditched wheat only because I wanted to feel better. Allergy reasons. Not Lipid profile.

LDL116, and HDL 35 ( beats HDL of 18 all my life consumtion of simple carbs will....
But my total cholesterol is 190.
This is opposed to high fat hamburger, FF, pizza with extra cheese I don't know.
But no more than 7% saturated fats.

Only wish high hdl and low trigs were the best is, doesn't ....
So he was started on statin/niacin thearpy, several does...it raises HDL, it also lowers LDL and trigs.
HDL was in the teens, LDL high, trigs high.

I'm assuming that the 5.8 number may still be riding high on the tails trying to find out what's going on.
My glucose (when I monitored it)was always high after exercise come down to 5.8.
