But that's not true; high TGL and low HDL are far more reliable risk factors for CVD.

As taking steroids increases LDL (Low-Density Lipoprotein) and decreases HDL (High-Density Lipoprotein) cholesterol, what ways can we boost our levels of HDL to better protects ourselves from plaque build-up? Thank you for reading.

Cholesterol is a little high, HDL is a little low and tri's are through with your health man! The high trigs conern me more so than being 7 shy of a healthy HDL and a bit high ....

As I understand their study, it did not support the theory that a high HDL, or "good" cholesterol count, alone will protect against heart disease regardless of lifestyle.
My 19 year old's endo just called and wants to put him on Niaspan because his HDL is too low and his Tricycerides are too high. He has been Type 1 since 8/27/08. Is there anyone on here on this medicine? Side effects, etc.

I was told to take aspirin with it but I am allergic to aspirin... .
The side effects do go away over time though.
The biggest thing I noticed was the flushing and itching that drove me crazy .
I am on niacin which is the over-the counter version of Niaspan .
Some examples include CLIPs. Obviously, I cannot read the .ngc file. It would be nice to make the actual hdl files available with the example. The examples are meant as educational tools, and not as protected IP. I am not looking to convert to an edif...
