I am trying to wire in a headlight relay and need a switched source, i first hooked it to my efan switch wire which is connected to the cig outlet but as soon as the key is on the lights come on even with the headlight knob in the off position...

I know this will be little help for now, but I used a wire on my HVAC control lights lights and such.
And i figured there has to be one behind that headlight knob or within the FCM like you say that actually lights and such.
